The Germano family recently inherited a tiny 0.5 hectare plot in the Vigna Rionda cru – considered by many to be one of (if not the) best vineyards in all of Barolo growing region. As with his other wines, Sergio Germano’s expert guiding hand has turned out a wonderful 2017 Vignarionda. Gorgeous aromas of crushed berry, wild flowers and cooking spice. There is finesse in spades, complimenting the energetic palate filled with berry compote, cinnamon and anise. There is a lingering sweetness on structured and elegant finish.
