This is a remarkable single-vineyard Barolo made from grapes grown from 90-year old vines in the Capalot cru. Originally leased to Robert Voerzio by Alberto’s grandparents, this plot is the crown jewel of the Burzi production. Delicate garnet in colour, there are delicately exotic perfumes of delicious cherry, baking spice and rose petal. This wine is both more concentrated yet more ethereal than the Barolo Classico at the same time. A vibrant, energetic palate brings crushed cherries, cinanammon and a refined mineral backbone. Supple tannins and bracing acidity complement the elegant and precise finish.
