Produced from a single vineyard planted in 1981, the “Vigna Vecchia” (or Italian for “old vines”) is a limited production that is produced only in excellent vintages. The 2016 features aromas of forest floor, crushed cherry and currant fruit and a hint of tobacco. The palate features juicy fruit and classic mineral undertones of iron and iodine, alongside burly tannins and a quaffing acidity on the finish.
