Patrick Javillier is renowned for his expertise in crafting white wines from the Cote de Beaune that punch well above their weight. Despite small holdings in premier cru and grand cru, Patrick has perfected the art of blending fruit from different climats (or plots) to vinify wines greater than the sum of its parts.
The Clousots is a blend of Les Clous (at the top of the hill) and Les Crotots (just below Premier Cru Porusots). The 2022 presents shy aromas of apple, pear, lemon peel and a touch of honey suckle. Excellent drive and richness on the mid palate, with a precise and lingering finish offering up notes of hazelnut, chalky minerality and just a touch of fleshiness on the backend. Wonderful acidity and balance on display here on this Meursault villages that is lovely now, but will get even better in the coming years.
