Patrick Javillier is renowned for his expertise in crafting white wines from the Cote de Beaune that punch well above their weight. Despite small holdings in premier cru and grand cru, Patrick has perfected the art of blending fruit from different climats (or plots) to vinify wines greater than the sum of its parts.
The Tete de Murger is crafted by blending fruit from Les Casse-Têtes up in the hills and Murger de Monthélie close to Volnay. The richest and weightiest of the Javillier Meursault-villages, the bouquet is redolent of ripe orchard fruit and warm, comforting butteriness. The full and generous mouthful shows off ample tension, with a wonderful drive in the mid-palate before closing with a persistent, mandarin-and mineral-laced finish. Great now and more refined evolution to come.
