The more structured of Giorgio Negro’s Barbarescos, made with a combination of fruit from the Albesani and the Gaja Principe crus and aged in 500 litre Austrian, French and Slavonian oak barrels. The 2020 growing season yielded a particularly harmonious rendition of the Pian Cavallo, with an exotic symphony of candied fruit, Asian spice, tea leaf and berry compote on the nose. The structured palate delivers rich savouriness alongside well integrated tannins and a lingering finish.
