The more feminine of Giorgio Negro’s Barbarescos, the Gallina is produced from vineyards from just behind the cellar. Aged in 500 litre Austrian, French and Slavonian oak barrels, the nose is full of raspberry, plum, anise and eucalyptus whilst the palate offers dark berries and currants, white pepper and a touch of coffee on the finish. Well integrated tannins are framed by a vibrant acidity.
