Il Colle – Brunello di Montalcino DOCG 2019

From the excellent 2019 vintage, Il Colle’s 2019 Brunello di Montalcino is as classic an expression as they come.  Aromas of wild berries, violets and crushed spice waft from the glass, with hints of peppermint and liquorice apparent just under the surface.  The complex palate is both muscular yet delicate at the same time, with notes of ripe blackberries, orange peel and a hint of porcini mushroom.  Refined tannins grace the elegant, almost meditative finish.
